What is the purpose of this study?

The purpose of this study is to evaluate what reproductive technologies are being used in the swine industry and identify barriers to adopting new technologies.  The responses to this survey will be anonymous and will be used to create publications for research as well as to steer research projects.  No reference will be made in written or oral reports that could link you to this study.  We hope to get a minimum of 50 sow farms to participate. 


What will I do if I choose to be in this study?

 You will voluntarily participate in an anonymous online survey designed to take less than 15 minutes of your time. 


How long will I be in the study?
 Less than 15 minutes.

What are the possible risks or discomforts?

 All research carries risk.  The standard for minimal risk is that which is found in every day life.  Therefore, the risk to participate in this study is considered minimal.


Are there any potential benefits?   

 There are no direct benefits to the subjects for participating in the survey. 


Will information about me and my participation be kept confidential? 

 The project's research records may be reviewed by departments at Purdue University responsible for regulatory and research oversight.  The survey will not ask for identifiable information such as your name or farm name.  All surveys will be anonymous.


What are my rights if I take part in this study?

 Your participation in this study is voluntary.  You may choose not to participate or, if you agree to participate, you can withdraw your participation at any time without penalty or loss of benefits to which you are otherwise entitled.
