Inspired by Latin dance and music, Zumba uses a variety of styles in its routines, including cumbia, merengue, salsa, reggaeton, hip-hop, pop, mambo, rumba, flamenco, and calypso and Salsaton. Music selections include both fast and slow rhythms to help tone and sculpt the body with easy to follow dance moves! No dance experience required.
WERQ DANCE FITNESS
This fiercely fun dance fitness class is based on pop, rock, and hip hop music. The warm-up previews the dance steps used in class and the cool-down includes balance and yoga-inspired poses.
An interval-based cardio workout combining shadow boxing, kickboxing & sport drills. You'll kick, punch and groove the calories away in this super fun, no-contact workout!
This class is designed to isolate and strengthen your core through integrated, efficient and graceful movement. This traditional mat class will develop long, lean muscles while increasing strength, flexibility, balance and postural improvements.
Tap into your own powersource, generating sweat, vigor and stamina warming your body from the inside out. This dynamic and energizing form of yoga sculpts and tones every muscle in the body.
A slow flow with an emphasis on opening and restorative postures. Through breathwork, gentle movement, and deep holds, this all-levels practice is designed to restore the body and renew the spirit.
Interested in Yoga? Enjoy the outdoors? How about combining both, this class will take place at an approved, on-campus, outdoor location so, participants can benefit from yoga instruction and the enjoyment of being outside. Dressing in layers is recommended, allowing participants to shed individual layers to adjust to the weather, activity level and temperature of the day.
Originally developed in ancient China for self-defense, Tai chi is sometimes described as meditation in motion because it promotes serenity through gentle movements — connecting the mind and body. In this class you will perform a series of postures or movements in a slow, graceful manner that when combined together form a short “dance.” This class will include specific exercises from within the Dao Yin Yang Sheng Gong system. The slow circular movements, blended with deep breathing, help to decrease stress, increase range of motion, improve flexibility and balance and cultivate a sense of wellbeing
MINDFUL MEDITATION & STRETCHING
Escape your daily routine, restore your mind and revitalize your body. Sample various stress reduction techniques including meditation, progressive muscle relaxation and guided imagery. Learn to control breathing and calm the mind through a gentle practice of yoga and deep stretching. Adequate floor space and proper attire is required.
